The Summer Science Institute has been developed for students in the Solvay Union School District. It is a 2 week, half-day event, occurring weekdays July 10th – 21st. The Institute will meet from 9:00 a.m. to noon in room 146 of the Life Sciences Complex at Syracuse University. There is no fee.
The goal of the Summer Science Institute is to familiarize students with the process of scientific research.
This year the topics include:
Module 1 – Vitruvian man
Module 2 – Light & Plants
Module 3 – Genetically modified organisms (GMOs)
Module 4 – Zebra fish embryo development
Module 5 – Light perception in humans
Module 6 – Sound & Insects
